Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset.
Maytag 3000 washer locked with door open.
If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power.
The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes.
Door on the maytag 3000 series front load washer will not open after placing clothes in the washer shutting the door and pressing the start button a buzzing sound starts and then an f22 code comes up.
Once the washer door is closed the washer can begin operating.
If not call for service.
After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen.
If the door lock is damaged or does not latch properly replace it.
Gently pull the tab down about a 1 4 or until a click is heard.
The door should unlock after 60 seconds.
Run a drain and spin cycle.
The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high water level in the washer high water temperature tumbling or spinning.
After 15 minutes it will reset and the motor will stop humming and the door will unlock.
Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally.
Carefully reach up along the inside of that front panel and pull down on the manual release tab that is on the bottom of the door latch assembly.
The door may immediately unlock.
If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly.
You should then be able to open the washer door.
Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch lock unit.
You will hear the door click when it unlocks.
The top panel will pull straight back up and off.
The door should unlock after this is complete.
Remove the screws coming in from the back of the top panel.
Remove the lower kick panel.
The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically.
It may take up to five minutes for the washer to stop spinning and draining before the door will unlock.
Inspect the door lock for damage.
Located on the bottom of the door switch lock unit is a teardrop shaped tab.
If there is no motor humming pull the washer forward and unplug it.
Reconnect power to washer plug in.
